Can we consume Tapioca pearls (Sabudana)?
We do not recommend consuming sabudana.
It is not a wholesome food item. It is refined because it is made from the endosperm (only the inner part) of the wheat grain. In the Satvic food philosophy, we recommend having wholesome foods that come straight from nature, the way that Nature has given them to us, without refining or processing them. Wholesome foods get properly digested, while fragmented foods are difficult to digest.
Nature has not given us sabudana, she has given us whole wheat.
Instead of sabudana, eat whole grains such as whole wheat flour, millets, broken wheat, quinoa, or brown rice.
