Can I use a Pressure Cooker to prepare my meals?

We do not recommend using a pressure cooker. Here's why.

Pressure cookers were never a part of the Indian cooking culture. Until this foreign technology was introduced in our market and it flourished because of its benefits of reducing cooking time and gas

When you cook food in a pressure cooker, undue pressure is exerted on it which drastically reduces the nutritive value. In fact, the food is not cooked, it is broken down. In the Satvic Philosophy, we follow the law of non-violence. A pressure cooker is too violent to the food being cooked in it.

You may ask if you could use a clay pressure cooker instead? It is not about the material of the pressure cooker, it is about the concept of pressure cooking.

The solution is to simply cook the food in a pot with a lid covering. If you are cooking grains, make sure to soak them for at least 12 hours beforehand.
