Can I switch to a 100% raw diet?

Yes, you can! A 100% raw diet will help you reverse your disease faster and provide your body with immense nutrition.

However, if you start eating foods that are very simple to digest like water-rich fruits, vegetables, & juices, then it's possible that your digestive system becomes accustomed to digesting only that. Then. it won't be able to digest heavy grains if you feed it with heavy grains all of a sudden. 
 
So if you have to be raw, then we suggest having a very wholesome raw diet consisting of :
 
Fruits, green leafy & starchy vegetables like green beans, steamed broccoli, and a few soaked nuts and seeds every day, and some amount of fat every day coming from freshly grated coconut. This way your digestive system will remember how to digest cooked food.
 
When a time comes when you have to eat grains, then have them in a small amount. If you have a lot of grains all of a sudden after following a raw diet, your body will not like it. If you gradually commence eating grains and mixing them with lots of vegetables, then there's absolutely no problem.

As part of the Satvic Food plan, we recommend having one cooked grain meal a day to maintain a balance.
