Can we drink more water instead of taking enema?
No, we don't recommend drinking an excess amount of water as a substitute to taking enema.
Drinking water does not have the same effect as taking an enema. Let's understand why.
See, our primary aim with an enema is to dissolve the hard crusty layer of waste stuck onto the walls of our large intestines and give them a proper toning so that they can function better.
When we drink water, it passes through our esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and eventually reaches the kidneys, where the process of filtration happens. The water doesn't stay in the large intestine for a sufficient amount of time.
Whereas, when we take an enema, the water directly enters our large intestine and helps dissolve all the stuck hard waste matter, so that it can easily get out through our stool.
Moreover, drinking an excess amount of water puts unnecessary pressure on the kidneys and makes them weak.
