How do we breathe while performing asanas?

In Ashtanga Yoga, we practice Ujjayi breathing along with all the asanas. Once you get into an asana hold the posture for 6-8 breath cycles. If you are unable to do ujjayi breathing, just do regular breathing. In Suryanamaskar, all the forward folds require you to exhale out and all the upward stretches require you to inhale. Please remember it takes some time to synchronize your breath with your movement, roughly 3 months. Please have patience as you continue on this journey.
